Project Overview

Project Title: LLM Social Simulations and Inference ?語(yǔ)?模型社會(huì)模擬與推斷

Duration: 2 years (full-time)

Location: CUHK (Hong Kong) and CUHK(SZ) (Shenzhen), with time split across both campuses

About the Scheme

The CUHK–CUHK(SZ) Joint Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme is jointly launched by The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK(SZ)), and the Human Resources and Social Security Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality (SZHRSSB). The Scheme seeks to foster cross-border academic collaboration, attract top-tier research talent from around the world, and support the Greater Bay Area’s development as a global innovation hub.

The successful candidate will be appointed as a Postdoctoral Fellow (Honorary) at CUHK and will also register as a Postdoctoral Fellow via CUHK(SZ). The postdoctoral fellow will serve as a full-time staff member at both campuses with access to necessary infrastructure and research facilities. Upon successful completion of the fellowship period, the postdoctoral fellow will receive a postdoctoral certificate from Chinese Mainland and a certificate of postdoctoral experience from CUHK.

Prof. Zhang’s research studies how AI and data science reshape decision-making on online platforms and marketplaces. His methodological expertise spans generative AI and large language models, causal inference and econometrics, reinforcement learning, and data-driven optimization, with applications to online platforms, marketplaces, social networks, and AI agents. He is also an RGC Research Fellow and a receipient of NSFC Excellent Young Scientist Fund.

Prof. Wang’s research focuses on supply chain management, innovation and technology management, empirical studies in operations management, and AI-enabled business models. He serves as the area head of Information Systems and Operations Management at CUHK(SZ) and has been awarded the Distinguished Young Scientist Fund of Guangdong Province.
